I made some time in my schedule today to play in the craft room and had such a good time making these fun Halloween cards. Now the hard part, deciding who to give them to. I love this time of year!!!

This makes me want to hurl...

but it is really funny at the same time. Could you imagine if I decided to make these instead of really carving my pumpkins and place these all over my porch? Ha ha!

Paper Mache Holiday House

Yes I know that it is a little early for Christmas Decor, but I just got in the mood to create this fun paper mache house. I love paper mache houses that are all decorated with glitter for the holidays. I don't know why I haven't made one of my own until now. It was so fun to do. I just bought one of these unfinished paper mache houses and painted it a mint green color. Painted the roof white for snow.
I added a door and some shutters out of chipboard and painted them white. I backed the windows with vellum and to add the final touches I used ribbon, pearls and tinsel pipe cleaner and clear glitter of course!

Cute Art Prints

Aren't these Art Prints so darn cute? My super talented sister designed these and she is selling them in her Etsy Shop. Go on over and take a look. I think I need ALL of these for my house!

Ugly Owl Frame

I bought this beauty from a yard sale for 25 cents. I removed the owl picture... it had to go as it doesn't fit into my decor. :)
I gave the frame a few coats of a dark brown spray paint and filled the frame with this Turkey picture... I thought this would be a nice piece to display with my Thanksgiving Decorations since I only have a couple. I will try to remember to post pictures when I have it all displayed.

Halloween Decor that I Adore!

Both of these images come from Country Living. I love all the bats on the door. How cute is that?
Oooh, and aren't these just so fabulous? I love the black and the white twist. Makes Halloween seem a little more classy that all the cheap Halloween decor that has all the fake blood... just not my taste is all.

I have always loved these birdcages when I came across them in home decor stores, but never wanted to fork out the $40 or so to actually take one home with me. I was delighted when I came across this one at a yard sale for only $3. Wahooooo, what a steal. I like it this color, but I am trying to decide if I should paint it white or a light robin's egg blue color and distress it. Or, do I just keep it how it is. Any suggestions?

I love seeing what other people are up to in their lives. I love reading blogs, especially while I eat my breakfast. To me it is like reading the morning paper, only way more interesting! Anyway, if anyone has a blog that they would like to share with me, I would love to read it! Just leave me a comment with your link. Thanks so much! Happy Blogging.

Pictures as Promised

Isn't it so cool what a little paint and wood can do for a room? All of our walls were white so I painted them. This paint color is called Ocean Pearl. It is a Behr color, but I had them color match it in Glidden, my paint of choice.
My husband put up the wainscoting and then luck me got to putty and caulk. It was so tedious, but I wanted to do a good job so that it would look good.
Here is the finished wall in the Entry Way/ Living Room area. I am still working on the wall in the kitchen/nook. I will post pictures of that when I am done.

My $4 Window Covering

We just moved into a new house about a week 1/2 ago and we had blinds on all the windows except for the half light window on our back door. We tried temporary paper blinds which looked horrible and they kept falling down. So you can imagine how excited I was when I came across this amazing tutorial on Jenny's blog: Little Green Notebook. Thank you so much Jenny!
I bought the vinyl mini blinds from Walmart and I got this $30/yard fabric for free, thanks to my sister who had a coupon from a designer fabric store for a yard of free fabric. I already had the fabric glue and I had the ribbon. I love that this shade only took about 20 minutes to make and that they required no sewing! Seriously, this was the perfect solution for our door. Check out Jenny's blog to find the directions and make some of your own... also, she has so many wonderful projects and ideas.

A Simple Candle Stick

I found this wooden candle stick at a thrift store for $1. The wood was pretty dirty and beat up, but with a couple coats of a pale blue acrylic paint it now is quite charming.

Fabric Halloween Banner

My Mom, Sisters and I got together this week and sewed some fabric Halloween Banners. I cut out the letters from felt and just glued them on with fabric glue. I love how it turned out. It is getting me so excited for Halloween. I think the Autumn is my most favorite time of the year. (Don't mind the wall in the background. We are working on painting and putting up a chair railing. Pictures to come when that project is finished!)

some other thrift store finds

I bought these all for $1 each. Can't wait to find time to get my hands on these and do something fun with them. I promise to post pictures when I do. I love the oval frame especially. The item on the bottom is a candle holder.
